The Scantix Essentials PC comes preinstalled with the Ubuntu 8.04 operating system (Windows is available as an optional extra). If you are unfamiliar with Linux operating systems such as Ubuntu, we can give you a quick run-around on the system, including internet use, email, word processing and installing new software.
Note that we only provide support for ethernet or wi-fi based internet connections on this PC (ie. ADSL, cable and some wireless services). Dial-up and wireless internet services should work, however we do not provide any support or guarantees. If your internet service is delivered by dial-up or non-fixed wireless, we recommend upgrading to a Microsoft Windows operating system (available in the drop-down menu). Don't hesitate to contact us if you're unsure of whether your internet service is compatible.
